第32章 胸怀大志 脚踏实地

We should not only be ambitious,but also down-to-earth.

志不可不高，志不高则同流合污，无足有为矣；心不可太大，心太大则舍近图远，难期有成矣。

今文解译

一个人的志趣不可不高雅，志趣不高雅，就一定会与世俗庸劣之辈同流合污，结果一定难有作为。

一个人的心气不可太大，心气太大，就一定会舍弃眼前的目标而好高骛远，到头来必定一事无成。

English Translation

A man's inclination should be noble and elegant,or he will be lightly inflicted with bad influence and thus become good for nothing in the end.

A man's intention should not be too lofty and unrealistic,or he will forgo what is close at hand and seek what is far afield,and finally get nowhere.
